BRITISH RED CROSS

MONEY ADVICE
TARA money advice project is driven by the desire to help people whose lives are being overturned by debt and money problems. Most of the services are African refugees and asylum seekers who are low on income and have got language barriers to overcome, live in isolation. They find it difficult to manage their everyday lifestyle.

Healthy Living Project

 

 

The healthy linving project was set up to enable Tara members to understand Healthy Living project and improve individuals, families and community Health and Wellbeing, Tameside African Refugee Association (TARA) organized a workshop on “Healthy Life Style.”in partnership with the NHS.

 


Dr. Kaleta, Healthy Life Style Advisor and Specialist in Maternal and Child Health and he works with John Newton, the NHS Community Mental Health Development and the Health team in Tameside, Nutrition, diet, food labels and cultural value of food and how eating disorders are result of individual poor mental health.
TARA gave the participants the opportunity to join a gym , where six months was paid by TARA to encourage the members in regular physical activities.
The participant who took part in the sessions and workshop found it to be a great benefit to them, many recall that they have changed  their eating habit on their diet.
